Walleye-specific series covering spinning jigging, trolling, and casting applications on Great Lakes and Midwest river systems. Based on Daiwa's SVG graphite blank, a proprietary resin system optimized for moderate power and sensitivity in the walleye-jigging context. The series addresses the full walleye technique spectrum: short-stick vertical jigging (5'9"), open-water casting (7'), trolling (7'6"–8' T-suffix), and heavier bottom work (XH trolling rods). The SVG graphite blank uses Daiwa's exclusive reel seat of the same material, providing consistent blank-through-seat vibration transmission.
Handle design is a hybrid cork/EVA blend with a power-lift triangular foregrip (aids vertical jigging leverage) and an X-tube rear grip. Hook keeper included. The trolling-designated T-suffix models (RG76TMHFB, RG76TXHFB, RG80TMHFB, RG80TXHFB) use Daiwa's Glatech composite construction, a glass/graphite blend adding bend recovery under sustained trolling load. Extra-fast action dominates spinning models; fast action on trolling casters. Fifteen models: eleven spinning (5'9"–7'6", ML–MH, XF action) and four casting (7'6"–8', T-trolling suffix, MH and XH).
Spinning models cluster in the 6'–7' range for jigging and casting. The 5'9" MH and M models are dedicated vertical jigging tools; 7' and longer spinning models extend into pitching and casting range. XH trolling models (RG76TXHFB, RG80TXHFB) are the heaviest at 15–30 lb/3/8–2 oz.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Shortest MH model; intended for vertical jigging on the Detroit River and Great Lakes where a compact blank transmits bottom contact and enables precise jig control in deep current.
Lightest line-class model; 4–8 lb fluorocarbon range for clear-water finesse jigging. The extra-fast tip loads 1/16 oz jigs with enough sensitivity for soft bites in cold water.
Mid-length casting spinner; 1/8–3/4 oz covers open-water casting of swimbaits and heavier jigs from anchored or drifting boats.
Glatech trolling caster; MH power for crawler harnesses and small body-baits behind boards. The composite blank provides controlled flex for sustained trolling load without fatigue.
Heaviest trolling model; 8' XH handles large deep-diving cranks, heavy snap weights, and larger boards. The 2 oz ceiling accommodates oversized walleye stickbaits.
