Japanese offshore casting means working from a boat deck and throwing 45 to 200 gram surface poppers and stickbaits at giant trevally, yellowtail amberjack and tuna, then turning the fish before it reaches structure. The closest American reference point is offshore topwater for tuna. Break Through sits at the high-modulus end of the Saltiga casting range: Daiwa builds it on SVF COMPILE-X Nanoplus and describes it as the company's first offshore blank based on M40X carbon, wrapped in X45 Full Shield bias reinforcement and joined with V-Joint Alpha. Carbon content is 98 percent across all six models. The ZERO Seat reel seat removes the step under the palm during long fights, and an RV guide at the butt clears heavy braid off the spool.

Six two-piece models run 7'10" to 8'8" (2.39 to 2.64 m) at 288 to 330 g. Ratings span 45 to 100 g of lure and PE MAX 5 at the light end, up to 100 to 200 g and PE MAX 10, with maximum drag figures of 10 to 16 kg measured at 45 degrees. The code reads length first, line class second: C80-5 is 8 feet 0 inches rated to PE 5, C81-10 is 8 feet 1 inch to PE 10, and C88-6/8 covers PE 6 through 8. Because these rods are specified by line class and lure grams rather than the American ultralight-to-extra-heavy scale, they carry no power label at all. Daiwa names hiramasa, GT and mahi as the intended targets.
