Daiwa positions BULLSWING as a distance-and-lift casting rod: a heavier-walled blank meant to convert angler effort into plug speed and then hold pressure on the fish. The taper is regular-fast, bending progressively under load with butt torque held in reserve for lifting, and the targets are the standard offshore casting quarry of hiramasa and GT taken on big surface plugs from a boat. Anglers used to American offshore topwater for tuna will find the presentation familiar and the tackle scale heavier.

Six two-piece models span 7'11" to 8'8" (2.41 to 2.64 m) at 327 to 414 g. Lure ceilings run MAX 80 g through MAX 200 g and line classes PE MAX 4 through PE MAX 10, with maximum drag from 8 to 16 kg at 45 degrees. The 80-4 is the lightest rating in Daiwa's heavy casting families and the 80-10 the heaviest here. Read the codes as length then line class: 83-5 is 8 feet 3 inches to PE 5, 711-8 is 7 feet 11 inches to PE 8. Nothing in that scheme corresponds to the ultralight-through-extra-heavy labels used on US rods, so these carry no power rating. Blanks are HVF Nanoplus with X45 anti-twist reinforcement and V-Joint Alpha ferrules; carbon content is 71 to 76 percent. Guides use an RV design at the butt over a DPS18-20 reel seat.
