The Saltiga Inshore Travel series is Daiwa's premium multi-piece travel rod offering for saltwater inshore anglers who need a packable rod capable of handling hard-fighting species. The target angler travels frequently, by air, boat, or on foot, and refuses to sacrifice blank performance for convenience. Species serves include redfish, snook, tarpon, and comparable inshore gamefish. Both models are 4-piece spinning rods at 7'6". Blanks are built on HVF Nanoplus carbon fiber, which reduces resin content relative to standard carbon blanks to improve stiffness-to-weight ratio.
Daiwa's X45 bias fiber layer wraps the blank at 45 degrees to counter torque during casting and fighting. The V-Joint connection system uses a tapered sleeve that flexes through the joint, eliminating the flat spots common in conventional ferrule designs. Guides are Fuji Tangle Free K-style with FazLite rings, a travel-oriented ring material that resists breakage. A compact rod tube is included. Backed by a 5-year Saltiga executive warranty. The two models share the same 7'6" 4-piece spinning format and differ only in power.
The SATRIN764HS is rated H power (10–20lb / 3/8–1oz) for heavier inshore applications or light offshore species. The SATRIN764MHS is rated MH power (8–17lb / 3/8–3/4oz) for typical inshore finesse work. Both carry Regular action as listed in the specs. MSRP is $299.99.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
The H-power model handles heavier inshore presentations, larger topwaters, heavy jigs, and oversized swimbaits, and carries enough backbone for strong tarpon or snook runs in structure. The 10–20lb line range accommodates heavier fluorocarbon leaders in demanding environments.
