Saltiga J EXPEDITION is the travel rod in Daiwa's conventional jigging line, released in Japan in September 2025. It is the only multi-piece rod in the Saltiga jigging family. Both models break down to 89 cm, inside the sub-90 cm figure Daiwa cites for carrying gear to distant grounds, and the two use different joint architectures, a center cut on the 56S-4 and a one-and-a-half on the 50S-6. Both are spinning and both are short for the loads they carry. The 56S-4 measures 5'6" (1.68 m) at 210 g, takes jigs to 300 g on PE 4 and is aimed at around 120 m for kanpachi, hiramasa and kihada (yellowfin tuna); the 50S-6 measures 5'0" (1.52 m) at 235 g, takes jigs to 400 g on PE 6 and is aimed at around 150 m for large fish generally. The short lengths are a fatigue decision, since spinning tackle in this fishery works the lift stroke, including on a dotera drift where the boat runs downwind and the line angles away from vertical. Neither rod carries a power letter; a jig ceiling in grams plus the PE line number is the entire rating, as across the discipline. In the ladder this is the fast jigging J branch rather than the light (LJ), super light (SLJ) or slow pitch (SJ) branches, so the blank is stiff and butt-driven rather than fall-oriented. Construction is HVF nanoplus with X45 Full Shield and V-JOINT alpha nanoalloy joints, on a ZERO SEAT. Unlike most current Saltiga jigging rods, AGS carbon-frame guides are not used here.
