Saltiga J LOWRESPONSE

Saltiga J LOWRESPONSE is the low-modulus half of a pair in Daiwa's conventional jigging line, dated April 2026 against the high-modulus J HIGHRESPONSE of that September. Daiwa's response terminology describes blank stiffness and recovery, not power. A low-response blank is supple and damped, described by tester Sumizawa as soft and springy against the crispness of the high-modulus rods, and the design problem was keeping that softness from going vague, so the tip still returns quickly after a jerk and still reads the jig. Eight one-piece rods cover PE 2.5 to 5, five spinning and three baitcasting. The spinning models are 64S-2.5 (6'4", jigs to 220 g, 155 g), 63S-3 (6'3", to 250 g, 167 g), 62S-3/4 (6'2", to 250 g, PE 4, 170 g), 62S-4 (6'2", to 300 g, 173 g) and 60S-5 (6'0", to 350 g, 188 g). The baitcasting models are 64B-2.5 (to 220 g, 140 g), 63B-3 (to 250 g, 145 g) and 62B-4 (to 300 g, 158 g). Length runs inversely to line class, from 6'4" at PE 2.5 down to 6'0" at PE 5. The suffix is the PE rating, and no power letter is published, which is normal for Japanese offshore jigging: a rod is sold on the grams of jig it will work and the PE (号) number it is built around, not on the American UL-to-XH scale. The fishery is offshore vertical jigging for yellowtail and amberjack, with the emphasis on one-pitch comfort across a full day rather than any one depth band.
