Saltiga J Rev Limit sits at the heavy end of Daiwa's conventional jigging line, released in Japan for 2025. Conventional or speed jigging is the oldest of the four Japanese bands and the closest to what American anglers mean by vertical jigging: heavy jigs worked fast on a stiff blank with a strong butt, for amberjack and tuna rather than bottom fish. Light jigging tops out near 200 g and super light jigging near 100 g, while slow pitch jigging trades speed for a fall-triggered flutter. Rev Limit is built for high-speed jerking with the heaviest jigs in the catalog, and the name refers to an engine's rev limiter. Daiwa sets the brief as jig control in two-layer currents, all-day jerking comfort, and a straight fight with large fish. Three baitcasting models share a 5'4" (1.63 m) one-piece length at 137, 143 and 150 g. Unusually for the Saltiga J family the suffix indexes jig weight rather than line class: 54B-4 takes jigs to 400 g on PE max 4 for water around 150 m, 54B-6 to 600 g on PE max 5 for around 200 m, and 54B-8 to 800 g on PE max 5 for around 250 m. No power letter is published; the rating is a jig ceiling in grams plus the PE number. Named targets are kanpachi, hiramasa and tuna.
