Saltiga LJ EX

Saltiga LJ EX is the flagship of Daiwa's light jigging line, released in Japan in June 2025 and developed with Daiwa tester Naoki Sumizawa. Japanese boat jigging splits into four bands that American anglers usually collapse into a single idea of vertical jigging: conventional or speed jigging (roughly 100 to 300 g jigs on PE 2 to 4), light jigging (40 to 200 g, PE 0.6 to 2.0), super light jigging (10 to 80 g, PE 0.4 to 1.0), and slow pitch jigging, which is not a lighter version of any of them but a separate discipline where the blank loads and springs back so the jig flutters down on slack line. LJ EX sits on the light rung. Five one-piece rods span 6'1" to 6'2" (1.85 to 1.88 m) at 136 to 149 g: four baitcasting (62HB-S, 62XHB-S, 61XHB TG, 61XXHB TG) and one spinning (61XHS TG), rated 40 to 120 g, 60 to 160 g or 80 to 200 g on PE 0.6 to 2.0. Two builds run side by side. The -S models are tubular blanks with a MEGATOP R carbon solid tip in Toray T1100G, at 86 to 89 percent carbon; the TG (Thrill Game) models are full solid at 99 percent carbon and bend deep under a running fish. Blanks combine SVF nanoplus with M40X and X45 Full Shield. Guides are AGS Type R carbon frames bonded with CWS carbon cloth instead of thread wraps, which Daiwa calls a jigging-rod first. Bait models use a ZERO SEAT Comfort Trigger, the spinning model an AIR SENSOR SEAT. The H, XH and XXH letters are Daiwa's internal grading, not the American power scale.
