Saltiga SJ TG

Saltiga SJ TG is Daiwa's full-solid slow jigging line, dated September 2026. Slow pitch jigging is the least intuitive of the four Japanese jigging bands for an American angler, because the name describes the action rather than the tackle weight. The angler loads the blank and lets it unload, kicking the jig upward, then leaves it to flutter, glide or spiral down on slack line; the eat usually comes on that fall. It calls for a slim, slow-tapered, high-rebound blank rather than a stiff fast-taper one, and it has nothing to do with fishing light. These five rods are rated from 150 to 300 g up to 300 to 700 g, heavier than anything in the light jigging line. All are baitcasting, one piece, 5'8" (1.73 m) and 99 percent carbon at 126 to 157 g, lengthened from 5'5" on the previous generation so the rods work the fall as well as the lift. In place of a power letter each carries a rung number: 58B-2 (150 to 300 g, PE max 2.0), 58B-3 (200 to 400 g, PE max 3.0), 58B-4 (250 to 500 g, PE max 3.0), 58B-5 (280 to 600 g, PE max 4.0) and 58B-6 (300 to 700 g, PE max 4.0). Ratings are jig grams and PE class throughout, so no UL-to-XH label applies. TG stands for Thrill Game, Daiwa's full-solid bend-deep concept. Blanks use SVF nanoplus with a Toray M40X outer layer, X45 Full Shield and a MEGATOP tip, with AGS Type R guides bonded by CWS carbon cloth, mixed single and double foot on rungs 2 through 4 and all double foot on rungs 5 and 6. The reel seat is a ZERO SEAT Active Hold Trigger shaped with tester Kazunari Shimizu.
