Saltiga SLJ EX

Saltiga SLJ EX is the top of Daiwa's super light jigging line, dated April 2026 and supervised by testers Naoki Sumizawa and Yuta Naruse. Super light jigging is the lightest of the four Japanese jigging bands: where conventional jigging works 100 to 300 g and light jigging 40 to 200 g, SLJ runs 10 to 100 g on PE 0.4 to 1.0, usually in under 60 m of water, and it overlaps tairaba head weights in the 40 to 80 g band. The difference is intent. SLJ rods are built to jerk a small jig and set the hook on the bite; a tairaba rod is built for a constant retrieve and no hookset. Five one-piece rods cover 6'1" to 6'5" (1.85 to 1.96 m) at 85 to 102 g: four spinning (64MLS-SMT, 65MS-SMT, 63MLS TG, 61MS TG) and one baitcasting (62MB-SMT), rated 15 to 80 g or 20 to 100 g on PE 0.4 to 1.0. Tip construction splits the lineup. The -SMT models carry Daiwa's SMT, a superelastic titanium alloy tip section chosen for vibration transfer carbon cannot match, while the TG (Thrill Game) models are full-solid blanks tipped with MEGATOP R in Toray T1100G. All five use SVF nanoplus with M40X, X45 Full Shield, AGS Type R guides bonded with CWS carbon cloth, and a ZERO SEAT on both spinning and bait. Daiwa's development copy names isaki as the delicate-bite benchmark, sawara as the hook-pull problem the full-solid blanks address, and an 11 kg hiramasa landed in testing.
