The Daiwa Saltist Inshore serves coastal saltwater anglers fishing from boat or wade in estuaries, flats, bays, jetties, and near-shore structures. Target species span the inshore spectrum, redfish, speckled trout, flounder, snook, striped bass, wherever medium-weight lure presentations from 10 to 30 lb line are the norm. All models carry an extra-fast action, giving the series a uniform tip sensitivity profile optimized for detecting strikes on moving lures. Blanks are HVF (High Volume Fiber) carbon graphite with a low-resin construction to reduce blank weight without sacrificing stiffness.
Fuji aluminum oxide guides are standard throughout for corrosion resistance. Split-grip EVA handles keep weight low and provide a secure hold in wet conditions. The series covers both casting (baitcaster) and spinning configurations in matched pairs across lengths, allowing anglers to build paired setups at consistent power ratings. Fourteen models break into seven power-and-length pairings, each offered in both casting and spinning formats: 6'6" in M and MH, 7' in M, MH, and H, and 7'6" in M and MH.
This mirrored casting/spinning structure lets anglers select rods by target technique, lighter M models for trout and finesse, MH models for redfish and general inshore, H models for larger structure fish or heavier live bait. The 7' H models represent the upper limit, rated to 30 lb line.

The heaviest baitcasting model at 7'. H power with 30 lb line rating addresses large redfish, stripers, or heavy structure fishing where extra pulling power is needed.
Spinning counterpart to the HXB. Heavy-power spinning at 7' handles large inshore fish on braided or heavier monofilament, useful where spinning tackle is preferred for longer casts.
Longest casting model adds reach for distance casting from open beaches or flats. MH power is the workhorse rating covering most redfish and general inshore baitcasting scenarios.
