Silver Creek Aurum

Silver Creek Aurum is a short, deliberately narrow branch of Daiwa's Silver Creek native trout family. Aurum is Latin for gold, and the series carries black and gold cosmetics to match. Four models cover the close-quarters end of Japanese stream fishing, where an angler works upstream through a wooded corridor casting 1.5 to 10 g spinners, spoons and minnows at targets a few rod lengths away: 48UL at 1.42 m (4'8") and 72 g, 410L at 1.47 m (4'10") and 72 g, 53UL at 1.60 m (5'3") and 74 g, all spinning, plus the 46ULB baitcaster at 1.37 m (4'6") and 70 g. Line ratings are 1.5 to 7 g on 2 to 6 lb for the UL models and 2 to 10 g on 3 to 6 lb for 410L and the baitcaster. The blanks are SVF carbon, Daiwa's high-density carbon with reduced resin content, with X45 bias wrapping and V-JOINT ferrules. Guides are titanium-frame SiC in oversized diameters, which reduces line friction on the short sharp casts stream fishing demands and gives ice and debris somewhere to pass through in cold-weather conditions. There is no long-rod option in this series; anything above 5'3" belongs to Trad or Glass Progressive.
