Silver Wolf SX replaced Silver Wolf AIR in Daiwa's chinning range and sits one rung below the EX flagship, ahead of MX and the base Silver Wolf. It is the first Daiwa chinning blank to use M40X carbon, blended with SVF to cut swing weight without giving up butt power, and Daiwa positions it as the lightest tier in the Silver Wolf family, with blanks from 75 to 95 g. Construction otherwise tracks the flagship: X45 full-shield bias carbon against torsion, V-Joint Alpha at the ferrule, AGS carbon-frame guides, an Air Sensor carbon reel seat, and a high-elasticity Megatop R solid tip on every model. Two-piece lengths run about 7'1" to 8'0", lure ratings 3 to 21 g and PE 0.3 to 1.5, covering 3 g finesse sinkers through 21 g rigs fished in current.
The fishery is black seabream on lures, mostly a free rig with crab and shrimp profiles worked in contact with shell, mud and rock, plus topwater and sinking pencils on shallow tides. American anglers will recognize the tackle logic from sheepshead and redfish around oyster and dock structure.
The split is baitcasting-heavy with a spinning model alongside. The reason is mechanical. Chinning is a fall-and-drag game, and a baitcaster lets the angler release the clutch to feed line on the drop, then re-engage and read bottom through a seat held in the palm rather than under a spinning reel foot.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 5 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
