Spinmatic D Ultralight Pack

The Daiwa Spinmatic D Ultralight Pack is a 4-piece travel spinning rod series targeted at trout, panfish, and light freshwater fishing where portability is the primary constraint. It is made for backpackers, campers, and traveling anglers who prioritize packing into a compact bundle over maximizing blank performance. All models are ultralight/fast action, meaning the series has a single application focus, light line, small lures, small-to-medium freshwater species. Blanks are high-performance graphite (spec unpublished as a specific modulus tier by Daiwa), fitted with Fuji reel seats, Grade A cork handles, aluminum oxide cut-proof guides, and a hook keeper.

All models ship with a soft case printed with rod specs. The 4-piece construction breaks into equal sections for easy bag stowage. Fast action means tip-sensitive blank response appropriate for detecting light strikes on small jigs and trout spinners. The UL rating across all four models is consistent, there is no power-range variation within the series. Four lengths: 5'6" (SMD564ULFS, 1–4 lb / 1/32–1/8 oz), 6' (SMD604ULFS, 1–4 lb / 1/32–1/8 oz), 6'6" (SMD664ULFS, 2–6 lb / 1/32–1/4 oz), and 7' (SMD704ULFS, 2–6 lb / 1/32–1/4 oz).

The 5'6" and 6' share the same lightest spec; the 6'6" and 7' step up modestly to accommodate slightly heavier lures. Length selection is primarily driven by the fishing environment: shorter for stream and brush-heavy water, longer for open lakes and larger rivers.
