The Tournament Surf (marketed as Tournament Ballistic Surf) is Daiwa's top-tier US market surf casting series, built for distance casting with heavy sinkers and large baits from open beach. Serves red drum, striped bass, and any surf species requiring maximum casting range. The SVF Nanoplus blank construction and V-Joint ferrule technology position this at the performance end of the production surf rod market. Reviewers note the combination of thin tip, fast recovery, and light overall weight delivers cast distances competitive with higher-priced alternatives.

Three-piece blanks use Daiwa SVF Nanoplus, high-modulus, reduced-resin graphite fiber, yielding a blank notably lighter than fiberglass or standard graphite composites at this length. V-Joint ferrules are designed to flex uniformly at the connection, avoiding the flat spot at joints that reduces casting efficiency on most 3-piece rods. Fuji LC guides, Daiwa custom reel seat, and shrink-wrap fore/rear grips round out the hardware. An interchangeable rear butt cap accepts additional weights for custom balance tuning to different reel masses.

Six models, all 13', all fast action, all spinning, separated by power and color variant (B = black, G = green). Three power tiers: H (17–40 lb, 2–10 oz), XH (20–50 lb, 4–12 oz), and XXH (25–60 lb, 6–15 oz), each offered in both color options. The H pair covers standard surf bottom-rig fishing; XH handles heavier pyramid weights and larger plugs; XXH is for extreme-distance tournament casting or very large baits in heavy surf.
