AT is area trout, and this is Daiwa's entry tier for that fishery. Area trout (エリアトラウト) is fishing stocked rainbow trout in managed ponds and raceways with microspoons, small minnows and bottom lures, generally under 3 g, on 1.5 to 8 lb line. Ten two-piece models cover 1.22 m to 1.99 m (4'0" to 6'6") at 74 to 86 g. The lineup splits in two. Short models at 4'0", 4'6" and 5'0", all 40XUL, 46XUL and 50XUL rated 0.8 to 4 g, are aimed at winter pool fishing, where fish sit tight and casts are short; Daiwa gives these red accents. The regular-length models from 5'6" to 6'6" carry metal components and a carbon-pattern reel seat. Ratings there run 0.8 to 4 g on the XUL models, 0.8 to 7 g on the UL models (56UL, 60UL, 63UL, 66UL) and 1 to 10 g on 60L, which is the heaviest in the series and the one that handles larger crankbaits and bottom plugs. The blanks use Braiding X, a carbon tape wrapped in an X pattern over the butt section to cut twist during casting and rod work while keeping the profile slim. Guides and blank technology stop there, which is what places this below Presso MX.
