It serves budget-conscious anglers who need a functional rod for drifting hardware, throwing spinners, or working plugs from the bank or a boat without committing to a higher-end blank. Blanks are fiberglass construction, not graphite, giving the series a slower, more forgiving feel suited to absorbing the violent strikes of anadromous fish and protecting light tippets.

Titanium oxide ring guides keep line friction low. Cork grips are standard. At a retail price around $30, construction is basic and the series sits firmly in the entry-tier market. The two-rod lineup covers a 10'6" UL model rated 4–10 lb (WLASS1062ULFS) for finesse presentations, side-drifting eggs, and light hardware, and a 9' ML model rated 6–12 lb (WLASS902MLFS) for medium spinners and plugs.

Both are two-piece spinning rods with fast action. The length difference addresses river wading versus shorter-range boat fishing. Price is the organizing principle, this is a starter lineup, outside the technique-optimized system lane.
