Champion Extreme HP

The Dobyns Champion Extreme HP sits at the top of the Dobyns bass tournament hierarchy, above the Champion XP. The series is based on technique-specific tapers refined through tournament use, with 21 models covering casting, spinning finesse, and dedicated flipping/punching applications. Dobyns markets the line for anglers who prioritize sensitivity, swing weight, and recovery speed. Blanks are proprietary Toray high modulus graphite with Kevlar wrapping in load-bearing zones.

Components include Fuji K-series tangle-free guides, Fuji reel seats with painted graphite frames, and AAA-grade Portugal cork grips. Casting rods are offered in full-handle (CFH) and split-handle (CSH) layouts; spinning models carry the SF finesse designation. Two flipping sticks (DX795FLIP and DX805FLIP/PUNCH) cap the heavy end. Line ratings start at 4-10 lb on the lightest spinning finesse rods and reach 15-30 lb on the punch stick, with lure ratings from 1/16 oz to 2 1/2 oz.

Lengths run 7' to 8', concentrated at the 7'4" range where most technique work is dialed. The Champion Extreme HP carries the Dobyns limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
