Sierra Trout And Panfish

The Dobyns Sierra Trout and Panfish series is a spinning-only ultralight lineup made for trout, crappie, bluegill, and other light-tackle species. It builds on the Sierra spinning blank platform with added solid carbon tip sections for improved sensitivity at the micro-jig end of the lure range. The series suits stream trout anglers, reservoir crappie fishermen, and dock-and-drop panfish anglers who want fast-action blanks in a budget-tier Sierra build.

Blanks use the same high-modulus graphite as the standard Sierra spinning series. Sea Guide XO guides are attached with Kevlar wrapping. Fuji reel seats and Portuguese cork split grips are standard. The solid carbon tip section improves transmission of light bites. All 12 models share fast action. Two power classes appear: UL (line 2-6lb, lure 1/32-3/16oz) covering the majority of the series, and L (line 4-8lb, lure 1/32-5/16oz) on the three longer models.

Each length is offered in both one-piece and two-piece configurations ("2" suffix), producing six length families across 6'2", 6'7", 7'0", 7'4" (UL), and 7'4" and 7'9" (L). The paired structure allows anglers to choose packability without a separate series. The 7'9" L models are the longest and heaviest-power options, suited to river trout and larger panfish where additional reach and slightly more backbone are useful.
