Colt

The Dobyns Colt is an entry-to-mid-range series intended for budget-conscious bass and panfish anglers who want a quality, sensitive rod under $100. Dobyns markets it explicitly toward anglers who want Dobyns-level construction without the price of the Champion or Fury lines. The Colt covers the widest technique range of any Dobyns series, with models from light panfish through medium-heavy bass applications. Blanks are high-modulus graphite with Kevlar wrapping at stress points.

Guides are Sea Guides. Handle material is high-density Hypalon on butts. The series carries a 1-year limited warranty, shorter than the Dobyns Champion lineup. Published specs list 9 models on the Dobyns website, but this batch contains 11 models including two sizes not listed on the original 9-model site description, suggesting a possible lineup expansion. Actions are predominantly Fast, with one MOD-Fast cranking model (CL705CB). The lineup spans 6'0" to 7'3" in both casting and spinning configurations.

Light-end models (CL601CSH, CL641CSH, CL601SF) cover panfish and small-stream species with L power at 6'0"–6'4". ML and M spinning models at 6'9"–7'0" target light to medium bass work. The 7'0" MH and H casting models handle heavier presentations. One cranking-specific model (CL705CB, MOD-Fast) addresses moving baits. The 7'3" H casting model extends the top end for distance flipping.
