Fury
Technique-specific bass casting rods from crankbait to big swimbait, under $150
The Dobyns Fury is a casting-only bass series built for technique-specific applications across a broad power range. It fits bass anglers who want a step-up blank at a sub-$150 price point, covering everyday techniques from finesse crankbaits up through heavy flipping and swimbait work. The series sits below Dobyns' Champion and Colt tiers but uses the same Kevlar guide wrapping philosophy.
Blanks are 30-ton high-modulus graphite, with a Fuji reel seat and a split-grip AA-grade cork/hi-density Hypalon handle. Action is predominantly fast; the lone moderate-fast model (FR705CB) is the crankbait exception. Rod weights run light for the price class. Warranty is limited lifetime for defects. Twelve rods span 6'6" to 8'0" in MH, H, and XH power ratings.
The bulk of the lineup clusters at 7'0" and 7'3" for general casting. Two dedicated flip rods appear at 7'6" and 8'0". The 7'9" and 8'0" HSB/big swimbait models handle line up to 40lb and lures to 8oz, pushing the series well into trophy-fish territory.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 17 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.

Model notes
6 of 17 modelsThe only moderate-fast model in the lineup; the softer tip is intended for crankbaits and moving baits where a stiffer rod would pull hooks. Slightly wider lure range than the standard MH fast models.
Standard MH workhorse at the longest common casting length. Suited to Texas rigs, jigs, and medium swimbaits at moderate distances.
First dedicated flip rod in the series. The FLIP designation indicates a longer handle and stiffer butt for pitching docks and heavy cover at close range; lighter than the 8'0" version.
Big swimbait specialist. Handles glide baits and paddle-tail swimbaits in the 2-5oz class; heavier line and longer blank aid distance and leverage on big fish.
Maximum-capacity model in the series. Braid-rated to 40lb and lures to 8oz, made for big swimbaits and large prop or wake baits where rod flex would cost distance and hooksets.
Long flip rod for reaching deep into cover from a distance. Heavy power keeps fish from burying in vegetation; the 8'0" length is unusual for a flip rod and extends pitching range.
