The Eric Cagle Signature series is a specialized crappie spinning lineup developed in collaboration with guide and tournament angler Eric Cagle, who fishes 300-plus days a year. The rods are designed for light-line crappie presentations, dock shooting, casting small jigs, and light finesse work, made for anglers who prioritize feel and balance in a premium spinning stick over versatility. Blanks are 40-ton high-modulus graphite wrapped with Kevlar reinforcement for durability without excess weight.
Seaguide guides are used throughout. The split-grip AA-grade cork handle with rear-locking reel seat reduces dead weight ahead of the hand and improves sensitivity transmission. Construction is consistent across both models, making the series coherent in feel if not in application window. The lineup spans just two models, a 6'0" for close-quarters dock shooting and tight-cover work, and a 7'0" for longer presentations and open-water crappie fishing.
Both are light power with fast action and share identical line (4–8 lb) and lure (1/16–1/4 oz) ratings. No baitcasting or heavier-power variants exist in this series. Pricing positions these above budget crappie rods but below flagship custom builds.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
At 6'0", this model is sized for dock shooting and tight-cover crappie work where a longer blank would be unwieldy. The shorter length keeps presentation accurate at close range and makes it manageable from a boat deck or dock edge.
The 7-footer adds reach for open-water presentations, longer casts to suspended crappie, and better line management on longer drifts. Same power and action as the 6'0" but with more leverage and casting distance.
