Sam Sobi

The Dobyns Sam Sobi series is a three-rod signature collaboration based on the techniques Sam Sobi, a Minnesota-based bass fishing content creator, favors most: spinning jigs and finesse presentations, casting heavier power baits, and flipping into cover. Each model is specialized for one of those three applications, making the series a focused technique set instead of a general-purpose lineup. All three rods are constructed with high-modulus graphite blanks wrapped with Kevlar for additional impact resistance.

Sea Guide XO guides and Fuji reel seats are standard across the series. The spinning model uses a split cork handle while the two casting models use split handles on the 724C and a full cork handle on the 765FLIP, the full grip serving as a load-bearing anchor during hard hook-sets in heavy cover. Blanks are balanced and splined. The SAM723SF is a spinning model for finesse techniques; the SAM724C is a 7'2" H-power casting rod for medium-heavy power fishing; and the SAM765FLIP scales up to 7'6" MH-power for flipping and pitching into pads, laydowns, and other heavy cover.

Line ratings progress from 8–17 lb on the spinning model to 12–25 lb on the flip stick, tracking with the jump in application demands across the series.
