VALKYRIE World Expedition

The Megabass VALKYRIE World Expedition is a multi-piece travel casting and spinning rod series designed for anglers made for large freshwater and saltwater fish with heavy lures, specifically 100g-plus swimbaits and topwater plugs exemplified by Megabass's MEGADOG and I-SLIDE 265R. The series is made for trophy hunters who need a capable rod that packs into checked luggage without performance compromise. Per Megabass's own English copy: the rods are "specialty rods designed for the technical use of 100g-plus lures" with "short, high power shafts" that "easily swing heavyweight lures."

Blanks layer high-sensitivity carbon with high-elasticity glass in a glass-composite construction that provides torque and flex for managing large fish headshakes in close-quarters power fights. The construction trades some blank stiffness for the compliance needed to stay connected to powerful fish. Long grip sections balance the heavy blank sections and reduce angler fatigue on extended sessions. Hardware is Fuji TCS reel seat and Fuji SIC stainless guides for salt tolerance. The 12-model lineup spans 3-, 4-, and 5.5-piece configurations from 5'8" to 8'8"–9'6" (the variable-length VKS-88-96MH-5.5).

Casting models (VKC prefix) cover ML to XXH power from 5'8" to 8', handling lures from MAX 30g to MAX 180g. Spinning models (VKS prefix) run ML to MH from 6'10" to 8'8"–9'6". The XH 3-piece models (VKC-61XH-3, VKC-66XH-3) with 73–79cm collapsed length represent heavier-duty configurations; the VKC-66XH-3 LTD is a factory store limited edition of the same spec. Actions range from Regular to Fast; the heaviest models trend toward Medium Fast for load management under large lures.
