粋凛

The Smith 粋凛 (Suirin, roughly translatable as "elegant / dignified clarity") is a compact 2-piece spinning rod made for area trout anglers who want a short, light rod suited for small managed ponds and narrow streams. The 4'5" length and UL power make it particularly suited to tight quarters and ultralight lures, made for trout species on small jigs, micro spoons, and inline spinners.

The blank is constructed from 30t + 36t graphite, a dual-modulus combination that balances response with enough give to protect light tippet. All guides are Fuji, with a stainless SiC top guide. The reel seat is a Fuji DPS. Two-piece construction with parallel ferrule keeps pack length manageable. The rod is offered in three color variants (Hinoki, Mizu, Sakura) and carries no warranty registration program.

MSRP ¥15,000 + tax. Released March 2025 per the manufacturer page. The lineup contains a single model, the SR-S455UL-BR, at 4'5" with UL power and Fast action. No multi-model tiering exists; the series is a single-purpose, single-size offering made for the dedicated domestic area trout market. JDM-only distribution, not marketed for export.
