K.O.Z EXPEDITION BAIT CASTING MODELS

Smith's K. O. Z Expedition casting series is a specialized overseas-expedition rod line supervised by Japanese 'Big Fish Hunter' angler Kozo Okubo. The application is made for large, hard-fighting freshwater and nearshore species on lure during international fishing trips, barramundi, giant snakehead, peacock bass, giant trevally, large perch, and similar species in tropical rivers and coastal environments. Explicitly designed for the demands of fighting powerful fish in environments where terminal tackle and the rod take hard abuse.

Blanks use 8+24+30T quad-axis graphite (4-way X-cross construction) in 2-piece configuration (noted /2 suffix). The multi-modulus cross-laminate construction combines stiffness for casting heavy lures with enough blank flex to absorb surging runs from large fish. Smith's signature orange camo EVA split grip with non-slip reel seat and extended fighting butt. All casting (baitcasting) models. Fuji SiC double-wrap guides. Four casting models spanning 6'5" to 7'7" with MH and H power ratings.

The 6'5" MF model handles moderate loads; the 6'7" H model with M action is the raw power option; the 6'8" MH handles a broad mid-range; the 7'7" fast-action MH adds reach and leverages long-distance work. Lure range across the series is substantial, up to 180g on the 7'7" model. Spinning models in this sub-series (a separate spinning series exists) is absent.
