K.O.Z EXPEDITION JIGGING MODEL

The K. O. Z Expedition Jigging sub-series extends Kozo Okubo's overseas expedition concept into deep-water vertical jigging applications. Purpose is made for large pelagics, amberjack, tuna, grouper, large kingfish, and similar species, with metal jigs at depth in offshore and mid-water scenarios during international trips. The series addresses anglers who want a single-purpose, high-quality jigging tool that can handle the full range of jig weights from moderate to very heavy.

Blank construction mirrors the casting series: 8+24+30T quad-axis graphite in 2-piece (or grip-joint 2-piece for the spinning model). Medium action across all models is deliberate for jigging, a softer than fast action allows the blank to load properly during the lift-drop jig cycle, transmitting jig movement and strikes without being too stiff to animate the jig. Fuji SiC guides with double wrap. All jigging models are 6' in the casting versions; the spinning model is 5'5", typical short-blank offshore jigging format.

Three casting models at 6' in L, M, and XH power cover a wide jig weight spread: from 2 13/16–8 13/16 oz (L) through 5 5/16–14 1/8 oz (XH). One spinning model at 5'5" XH handles the heaviest jig range (7 1/16–17 5/8 oz) for deepwater or strong-current scenarios requiring maximum retrieve power. The consistent 6' length on casting models is standard for overhead jigging from a boat.
