The Star Rods Delux is a saltwater boat and bridge conventional series made for anglers fishing from party boats, piers, or small craft for bottom species, large inshore gamefish, and offshore quarry. Line ratings of 30–100 lb place all four models firmly in the medium-heavy to extra-heavy class. These are workhorses, not finesse tools, the E-glass construction absorbs shock well but trades sensitivity for durability. Built on a premium E-glass blank throughout the series, the Delux uses wire foul-proof guides resistant to corrosion and guide wrapping issues that plague standard guides in saltwater.
The handle features a PowerButt on applicable models for rod-belt leverage. Construction is straightforward and utilitarian; no exotic materials. The series carries a limited lifetime warranty from Star Rods. Weight is unpublished by the manufacturer. The four-model lineup is all casting/conventional. The DLX35H (8', H, 40–60 lb) and DLX407 (7', H, 30–50 lb) occupy the heavy-duty live bait and bottom fishing range. The DLX507 (7', XH, 50–100 lb) is the big-game model for heavy sinker rigs or large live baits.
The DLX80WL (8', MH, 30–60 lb) is the lightest and longest, likely oriented toward wire-line trolling given its model suffix (WL). Spinning variants exist in this lineup is absent.
