The Star Rods Uncatchable (Sour Mash Moonshine series) is a freshwater bass rod collection co-branded with Call Family Distillers of Wilkes County, NC. It serves practical bass anglers, described by the brand as "meat fishers" focused on filling a cooler, who want technique-specific performance at an accessible $159.99 price point. Technique coverage spans all-purpose bass, crankbait/topwater, jig and Texas rig, flipping, and frog presentations across casting and spinning configurations.

Blanks are custom high-modulus graphite built with Plasma resins for an enhanced strength-to-weight ratio. Fuji FazLite guides are deep-pressed into the wraps to minimize friction. The reel seat is Fuji construction, providing direct blank contact. A distinguishing physical feature is the Power Ring system: colored rings on the handle butt visually code each rod's power class (3 rings = Medium, 4 rings = MH, etc.) , allowing rapid selection without reading model numbers. 1-year limited warranty.

The 15-model lineup spans 6'6"–7'6" in both casting (9 models) and spinning (6 models). Several models appear in duplicate as both C and S versions for angler preference (e. g. UNC70MC and UNC70MS are effectively the same technique in different reel-seat configurations). Extra-fast models (UNC69MLXFS, UNC72MXFC) serve finesse high-sensitivity work. The only XF spinning model, a finesse spinning workhorse for light drop shot, ned rig, and small shaky heads on 6–12 lb line. At 6'9" ML, it covers the distance needed for open-water finesse while staying light enough to feel subtle bites.

UNC70MHFC Casting · 7' · MH · F action

The technique chart labels the equivalent casting model as a Jig/Texas Rig application. Fast action and MH power provide the backbone for a solid hookset on heavy jigheads and rigged plastics without sacrificing enough tip sensitivity to feel soft bites.

UNC72MXFC Casting · 7'2" · M · XF action

M power with extra-fast action at 7'2" is an unusual combination, a sensitive, stiff-tip casting rod suited to situations requiring both feel and a clean hookset on lighter line, such as finesse jigs or drop shot on a baitcaster.

UNC76MHFC Casting · 7'6" · MH

The technique notes suggest this is the Flipping/Frog model, the longest casting rod at 7'6" MH/fast. Extra length aids flip-and-pitch accuracy into heavy cover, while MH power handles the violent surface strikes of frog fishing and single-hook penetration.
