The Duckett MaxCore is a Tackle Warehouse-exclusive tournament bass series positioned toward the upper-mid tier of the Duckett lineup. It serves serious or tournament anglers who want a broad-technique do-all setup in a single series. The construction is based on Duckett's Triple X AIRGT blanks, a nanocarbon/graphite/glass composite that blends sensitivity with multi-bend-point durability. X-Helical construction and an X-Weave outer layer are applied to resist blank twist under load, a common failure mode in high-stress techniques like flipping.
Plasma-coated Kigan zirconia guides, cork/EVA split grips, and a carbon-fiber reel seat complete a spec sheet consistent with ~$250 price-point rods. The lineup mixes actions and powers deliberately across both spinning and casting, showing a technique-spread approach instead of specialization in one presentation. XF actions appear on the lighter spinning and casting models for finesse; MF and M actions appear on heavier casting models for crankbaits and power techniques. The moderate-action 7'1" M casting model stands out as likely the crankbait rod in the lineup.
Seven models run from 6'9" to 7'4" across four casting and two spinning rods, plus a 7'3" spinning XF model. Casting models include ML/XF (drop-shot/ned), M/M (crankbait), MH/F (jig/swimbait), and two MH and H moderate-fast options for power presentations. Spinning covers finesse (7'3" M/XF) and general-purpose (6'10" M/F).
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Extra-fast action on a medium-light blank at 6'9", well-suited for finesse casting techniques like ned rigs, small jigs, or shaky heads on fluorocarbon.
The moderate action at 7'1" identifies this as the series crankbait rod. Medium power and moderate action allow the blank to load fully on the cast and absorb head shakes without pulling hooks, the classic crankbait formula.
Heavy power with moderate-fast action at 7'4" for punching, flipping heavy cover, or large swimbaits where the MF action gives a fraction of load forgiveness over a pure fast blank.
