Classic Trout Panfish Spinning
GLX graphite 7-foot 2-piece light spinning rod for trout and panfish finesse presentations
The G. Loomis Classic Trout Panfish Spinning SR 842-2 GLX is a single-model, 2-piece light spinning rod built on GLX graphite, the top-tier blank material in the G. Loomis lineup, for finesse trout and panfish presentations. The target angler is a precision freshwater light-tackle fisherman who works small jigs, micro-spinners, and spoons for trout in clear streams or panfish along lake edges, and values sensitivity and feel above all else.
It is positioned at the premium end of the light-spinning category. GLX is G. Loomis's highest-modulus, lowest-resin-content graphite construction, delivering the highest sensitivity-to-weight ratio in the lineup. The 7-foot length with fast action provides a longer casting arc for open lake-edge fishing while the light power and fast action tip give immediate feedback on the subtle bites of trout and panfish. Line rating is 4–8 lb, lure weight 1/16–5/16 oz.
The rod is built as 2-piece for transport convenience; the blank is notably light for its class. This is a single-model series, one rod at 7'0", L power, F action. No length variants or power steps are offered within this specific classic series listing. It sits in a specialist niche as a dedicated ultra-light freshwater tool instead of a multi-length family.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 1 model, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
