The IMX-Pro JWR (Jig and Worm) Casting series is G. Loomis's specialized bottom-contact rod lineup for bass anglers fishing jigs, soft-plastic worms, tubes, creature baits, and similar lures that require direct contact with structure. This is outside the moving-bait series lane; the application is deliberate, methodical bottom work where bite detection at the fingertips determines catch rates. Target angler: bass tournament and serious recreational fishers who know the difference between a finesse jig bite and a crawfish grab. IMX-Pro blank material reduces weight vs. E6X by up to 18%.

Strategic scrim placement in the JWR-specific taper produces an extra-fast or fast tip that telegraphs bites and loads precisely on hooksets, transitioning into a powerful mid and butt section for driving hooks through bait and skull and controlling fish in heavy cover. Fuji K-Frame tangle-free guides; subtly tapered rear grips balance split-grip feel with palm contact. XF-action models are the dominant design; F action only appears at H and XH powers where the heavier power already provides sufficient tip resistance. Ten casting-only models span 6'8" to 7'5" in M through XH power.

Three lengths (6'8", 7'1", 7'5") each carry a three-power progression in M, MH, and H, all XF action, plus an additional 7'1" XH F model. The three-length-three-power grid allows anglers to match rod reach to presentation: 6'8" for flipping and pitching, 7'1" for standard casting, 7'5" for long-distance bottom-contact presentations or power finesse on big water. The lone XH model (855C JWR) addresses punch fishing or heavy flippin' jig applications beyond the standard heavy.

Deeper Dive

A closer look at notable models.

IMX-PRO 802C JWR Casting · 6'8" · M · XF action

Lightest, most finesse model; XF/M at 6'8" with 10-14lb line serves shakey head, small Ned rig, and finesse jig presentations where a light line and small lure on a short, sensitive stick maximizes feel on subtle bites in clear-water conditions.

IMX-PRO 855C JWR Casting · 7'1" · XH · F action

Only XH model and the only 7'1" F (not XF) action rod in the series. XH power with 17-25lb line addresses heavy punch fishing, driving a heavy jig through mats or flipping big swimbaits into deep cover. F action instead of XF provides a touch more forgiveness to prevent pulling hooks on aggressive fish.

IMX-PRO 892C JWR Casting · 7'5" · M · XF action

Longest finesse model; 7'5" M/XF at 10-14lb line applies finesse bottom-contact presentations to big water or situations requiring long casts, drop-shot adjacent applications, Carolina rig, or shakey head at range from the boat on open flats or main-lake structure.
