The GLX 23 JWR (Jig and Worm) casting series is G. Loomis's flagship bottom-contact bait rod line, positioned at the top of their GLX graphite tier, sitting above IMX-Pro and GCX in the domestic hierarchy. Anglers here are serious tournament and recreational bass fishermen who work jigs, Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, shaky heads, tubes, and similar presentations. The series is handcrafted in Woodland, WA and priced $525–$550, reflecting its premium-domestic positioning. Blanks use a proprietary high-modulus graphite compound with advanced resin and a machined micro-taper design that varies stiffness at precise points along the blank instead of a simple linear taper.
This produces a defined "soft tip / quick-loading backbone" feel that reviewers consistently note keeps fish pinned on open-hook presentations. Hardware is Fuji K-series SiC guide train (tangle-free frame), Ci4+ reel seat for reduced weight and blank-through sensitivity. Handles are premium full cork. The series carries G.
