The G. Loomis E6X Walleye WJR 2 is a specialized vertical jigging rod for walleye. Vertical jigging, holding the rod directly above the boat and working jigs through the water column, is a high-contact technique that demands a rod with responsive tip sensitivity and a firm enough mid-section for hooksets when fish hit on the fall or pause. The WJR designation identifies this as a Walleye Jig Rod within the E6X walleye family.

The blank uses E6X high-modulus graphite with multi-taper design to reinforce stress points while keeping the rod light and responsive. The construction favors a fast, positive hookset with a tip light enough to read subtle bites through 6–12 lb line on typical walleye jigs. Fuji guides and grade-A full cork handles are standard, and the rod is handcrafted in Woodland, Washington. The medium power rating provides slightly more authority than a finesse spinning rod, suited to heavier jig heads in deeper water.

At 6'3" this is a compact spinning rod, shorter than most walleye rigs, optimized for vertical presentations from a boat in confined quarters or in specific depth ranges. Line rating of 6–12 lb and lure weight of 1/8–3/8 oz serves the mid-range jig sizes common in walleye fishing across the Great Lakes and northern impoundments.
