GCX Bass Dsr Spinning

The G. Loomis GCX Bass DSR Spinning series is a two-rod drop shot specialist lineup made for finesse bass anglers fishing vertical and semi-vertical presentations with light line and small soft plastics. Drop shot fishing demands a rod with a soft, responsive tip that allows a fish to fully inhale the bait before the angler feels resistance, combined with enough mid-blank sensitivity to detect bites transmitted up the line from a suspended bait. Both models are 6'10" extra-fast spinning rods built in Woodland, Washington.

Blanks use G. Loomis's Multi-Taper Design technology rolled on stepped mandrels with Spiral X construction for fast recovery, reduced weight, and high sensitivity. CI4+ reel seats reduce dead weight and amplify blank-to-hand feel. SeaGuide Hero One guides minimize tangles during the slow, repetitive drops typical of the technique. Split cork grips keep overall weight low during extended sessions. The GCX sits below the GLX tier in G. Loomis's lineup and is priced more accessibly while retaining technique-specific engineering.

The two models share 6'10" length and XF action but differ in power: the GCX 820S DSR is L (Mag-Light) power rated 4–8lb / 1/8–3/8oz for the lightest finesse rigs on clear-water fisheries, while the GCX 822S DSR is M (Mag-Medium) power rated 6–12lb / 3/16–1/2oz for slightly heavier drop shot rigs and situations calling for heavier line around sparse cover.
