GCX Bass Mbr Casting

The GCX Bass MBR (Mag Bass Rod) Casting series is a baitcasting lineup based on fast-action, high-sensitivity presentations for mid-range freshwater bass techniques, swimming jigs, vibrating jigs (ChatterBaits), medium-weight crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and similar reaction and bottom-contact lures. The "Mag Bass" lineage at G. Loomis is historically associated with fast, accurate taper profiles suited to clean open-water or light-cover bass situations instead of heavy flipping or punching applications. These are not frog or heavy-cover rods.

Blanks use Multi-Taper Design carbon construction, rolled in Woodland, WA. Fast action throughout produces a quick-loading tip for precise casting and efficient energy transfer on hooksets. SeaGuide Hero One guides reduce tangle with braided lines. Split-grip cork handle with Fuji reel seat. G. Loomis markets these at approximately $175–$200 and provides a limited lifetime warranty. Four all-baitcasting models in two lengths (6'6" and 7'0"/7'6") and two powers. Two 6'6" models at M (GCX 782C) and MH (GCX 783C) cover close-quarters versatility. The 7'0" MH (GCX 843C) extends reach while maintaining the same power class. The 7'6" MH (GCX 903C) is the longest option, suited for open-water reaction baits where casting distance and line control matter.
