The GLX JBR (Jerkbait Rod) Casting is G. Loomis's dedicated jerkbait casting rod in the 2023 GLX Bass platform. It fits bass anglers fishing suspending jerkbaits and similar twitch-pause presentations that demand a softer tip for lure action, a moderately fast recovery for hook sets, and enough overall sensitivity to detect follows or tap bites. The rod is intended for anglers who have found standard Medium-Fast bass rods either too stiff to load the lure or too slow to drive hooks.

The blank uses G. Loomis's proprietary Multi-Taper Design, stepped mandrels machined at micro-taper intervals that remove material where failure risk is low and reinforce where it is high. The result is a lighter, more sensitive GLX-grade blank than the previous generation. Fuji K SiC tangle-free guides, CI4+ reel seat, and premium cork handle are standard across the GLX Bass platform.

One model exists: 6'10", Medium power, Moderate Fast action, 8–15 lb line, 1/4–3/4 oz lures, baitcasting. There is no length or power range, the JBR is a single-purpose casting tool.

GLX 822C JBR Casting · 6'10" · M · MF action

The 6'10" length and Moderate Fast action together provide the soft-enough tip to load jerkbaits on the pause and the backbone for hook sets, a balance that a Fast-action rod disrupts. Medium power keeps the rod from overloading on the erratic side-to-side stroke used to work suspending baits. Multiple reviewers note the tip is meaningfully softer than the IMX 812 counterpart.
