IMX Pro Steelhead Casting

Three casting-format models from G. Loomis's IMX-Pro steelhead lineup, tuned for drift and river fishing for Pacific steelhead on the West Coast. The IMX-Pro Steelhead range is a curated multi-format collection (cast, spin, float, centerpin); this subset covers conventional casting applications only. Designed to spec with input from professional steelhead guides, outside the generic salmon/steelhead rod lane, but a serious instrument for technique-focused river fishing.

Price point is premium ($445+). Hand-rolled IMX-Pro blanks in Woodland, Washington, using Multi-Taper Design, a proprietary system of micro-tapers that reinforces stress points while minimizing unnecessary material. This gives the rod precise action definition and lighter overall weight compared to uniform-taper construction. Fast action throughout, which aids hook sets on long-distance drift presentations and is appropriate for single-barbless hook regulations common to steelhead rivers.

Fuji guides throughout. Three models, all 9ft or under: 8'6" MH (IMX-PRO 1023-2C), 9'0" M (IMX-PRO 1082-2C), and 9'0" MH (IMX-PRO 1083-2C). All fast action. The M-power 9ft model is the lightest option for smaller streams or finesse presentations; the MH models cover heavier drift rigs or bigger water. Two-piece construction on all three.
