The G. Loomis NRX+ Inshore Spinning series serves light to medium-heavy inshore saltwater applications: redfish, speckled trout, flounder, snook, and similar nearshore species across flats, marshes, and coastal structure. All models carry Extra-Fast action, making this a precision-casting, high-sensitivity series tuned for soft plastics, light jigs, and finesse inshore presentations. Not built for heavy jigging or offshore work. Blanks are manufactured in the USA using Loomis's multi-taper technology with Spiral X-style construction for reduced weight and enhanced recovery speed.
The NRX+ generation uses a higher-density carbon layup compared to previous NRX. CI4+ or equivalent lightweight reel seat allows direct blank contact. Fuji Titanium SiC K-frame guides throughout for smooth braid-to-fluorocarbon leader transition. The extra-fast taper across all models gives the series a coherent identity: maximum tip sensitivity with a stiff lower section for hooksets and line control. At ~$690 retail it sits at the top tier of production inshore rods.
Seven spinning models span 7'0" (840S–843S) and 7'6" (901S–903S) lengths, each in three power steps: ML, M, and MH. Line ratings run 6–20lb, lure ratings 1/10–1oz. Casting models exist in this specific sub-series is absent. The 7' group handles tighter quarters; the 7'6" group adds reach for open flats and longer casts.

Lightest model in the series at L power with 6–8lb line and 1/10–1/5oz lure range. Built for micro-presentation finesse work: small plastics, light jig heads, and ultra-light popping corks.
Heaviest of the 7' models. At MH power with 15–20lb line and lures to 1oz, this handles larger soft plastics, heavier jig heads, and provides authority against larger redfish and snook around structure. The extra-fast taper still preserves sensitivity despite the added backbone.
Crossover model, 7'6" length for open-water casting distance but ML power for lighter presentations. Well-suited for flats fishing where casting range matters more than brute force: small jigs, light rigs, and wading situations.
