The NRX+ Carolina Rig is G. Loomis's single-model casting rod built specifically for the Carolina rig, a bottom-contact technique that drags a heavy sinker along the bottom with a long leader and floating soft plastic. The 7'3" MH configuration gives enough length to load on long sweeping hooksets and enough power to displace a 3/4 oz sinker, while the fast tip reads bottom composition changes and detects slack-line pick-ups. Target species are largemouth and spotted bass across a variety of bottom types: hard gravel, clay, or shell beds.

NRX+ blanks use Shimano Spiral-X construction, cross-wound carbon tape in opposite diagonal directions, to maximize torsional rigidity while cutting weight. A multi-tapered design reinforces potential stress points at the mid-section without adding unnecessary graphite, letting the rod fully load on the long sweeping sets a Carolina rig demands. The hybrid guide train mixes Fuji Titanium SiC strippers with ultra-lite RECOIL guides for durability and snag-free performance across grass and rock.

The CI4+ reel seat bonds directly to the blank for direct vibration transfer. Hand-selected split-grip cork handles. Handcrafted in Woodland, WA with limited lifetime warranty. One model only: NRX+ 873C CRR (7'3", MH, F, 12–17 lb, 1/4–3/4 oz, baitcasting). Excels in the 3/8–3/4 oz sinker weight range. Spinning counterpart in this series designation is absent.
