The G. Loomis NRX+ Mag Bass (MBR) is a premium US-market baitcasting bass rod series, built on NRX+ blanks, Loomis's proprietary Spiral-X carbon technology combined with multi-taper design. The target angler is a serious tournament or dedicated bass angler willing to pay $400+ for measurable sensitivity and weight reduction advantages. The MBR designation signals mag bass: larger, heavier presentations, jigs, swimbaits, Texas rigs, flipping setups, instead of finesse technique.
The blank is American-made, incorporating multi-taper design that reinforces stress points while eliminating excess graphite, yielding fast action with forgiving load characteristics capable of handling a broad lure range. A hybrid guide train mixes Fuji Titanium SiC and Ultra-lite RECOIL guides, lighter than all-SiC and resistant to impact. CI4+ reel seat and premium cork handle maximize blank contact for bite transmission. Recovery speed after casting is described as ultra-fast, which improves distance on heavier presentations.
All six models are casting rods. Lengths run 6'6" to 7'6"; powers M, MH, and H. The 783C (6'6" MH) and 842C (7'0" M) are shorter versatile models; the 843C and 844C at 7'0" cover MH and H in the standard working length; the 903C and 904C at 7'6" are extended-reach versions of the MH and H ratings for pitching, flipping, and swimbaiting where rod length translates to casting distance or leverage.

3 of 6 modelsShortest rod in the lineup at 6'6" MH. Better than the 7' models for overhead casting in tight vegetation, dock fishing, or punching lighter mats where a short lever arm aids accuracy and control more than distance.
The 7'0" H model is noted in reviews for functioning as a do-all rod, its multi-taper design produces a fast-to-moderate response that handles Senkos and shakey heads as comfortably as 1oz jigs. One of the more versatile single choices in this lineup.
Extended 7'6" H for maximum leverage on pitching and flipping. The extra 6" over the 844C improves casting distance on heavy swimbaits and punching rigs, and gives a longer lever for prying fish out of cover.
