The Walleye Pitching Jig Rod (PJR) IMX Spinning series is part of G. Loomis's IMX walleye lineup, designed for pitching and casting jigs to bottom-hugging walleye in rivers and lakes. "Pitching Jig" connotes a controlled cast-and-drop technique where the angler presents jigs tight to structure, current seams, rock piles, riprap, and tracks the jig on the fall and retrieve. The IMX graphite platform delivers high sensitivity for the subtle taps and weight shifts that characterize walleye bites on a jig.

IMX blanks use super-high-modulus graphite, producing a thin-walled, light, and sensitive blank without the brittleness of ultra-high-modulus alternatives. Fuji guides and Fuji reel seats are standard. Extra-fast action in both models creates a quick, positive hookset, relevant in jig fishing where delayed strikes occur and a fast tip translates feel efficiently. Rod weights are IMX walleye rods are noted by anglers as notably lighter and more sensitive than the E6X series.

Two spinning models with different power and length: IMX 802S WJR (6'8", M power, XF, 6–12 lb, 1/8–3/8 oz) handles standard jig sizes in moderate current; IMX 901S WJR (7'6", L power, XF, 6–10 lb, 1/16–5/16 oz) adds length for reach in large rivers and drops to lighter power for finesse presentations.
