Aventa Float Rods

The Aventa Float series is Okuma's entry-level offering for centerpin and float-suspension fishing, made for steelhead and salmon anglers working rivers with a float rig. The 13'6" length provides mending reach and drift control without the investment of a dedicated centerpin rod; it suits beginners and occasional float anglers who want a functional, affordable tool over a specialist one. Blanks are 3-piece graphite composite construction with aluminum oxide insert guides on tall frames, which keeps the line elevated off the blank during float presentations.

Weight runs around 6.6 oz, serviceable but heavier than mid-tier float-specific rods. Reel seats are available in a Fuji version or basic slip-ring configuration depending on variant. Medium power with a flexible tip allows the float to register subtle takes without telegraphing resistance to the fish. The lineup consists of two versions of the same 13'6" medium spinning rod: the VT-S-1363FR is the single-piece-equivalent multi-section rod, while the VT-S-1363FR-2 denotes a 2-piece breakdown variant, both share identical length, power (M), line rating (4–8 lb), and lure rating (1/8–3/8 oz).
