Battle Cat

A specialized heavy catfishing rod series from Okuma, designed for anglers made for channel, blue, and flathead catfish with bait or heavy lures (1–8 oz, 15–60 lb line). The series covers both casting and spinning configurations at multiple lengths, making it functional from shore, boat, and wading situations. Moderate-fast action pairs with heavy power to provide the tip flex needed for circle hook sets while maintaining backbone for fighting large fish. Minimum lure weight is 1 oz.

E-Glass (fiberglass) construction is standard in the catfishing segment for durability and resistance to blank breakage under sustained pressure. Double-foot welded stainless steel guides handle the abrasion of heavy mono and braid without insert failure. A 14-inch cork rear grip with fighting gimbal and 6-inch EVA foam foregrip are built for leverage in prolonged fights. Fluorescent orange tip wrap aids visibility in low-light conditions. Two-piece construction with a unique butt-in-handle joint where the blank slides into the foregrip instead of a traditional ferrule mid-blank.

Five models: two casting (7'6" H and 8'0" H) and three spinning (7'6" H, 8'0" H, and 10'0" H). All rated H power, MF action, same line and lure range. Length is the primary differentiator, the 10' spinning model adds distance for bank fishing. No MH option in this series; the uniform H rating serves serious catfishers over casual use.
