The Okuma Coldwater Custom Trolling Rod series is a dedicated Great Lakes and Pacific Northwest trolling lineup built for salmon, steelhead, and lake trout. The series serves serious trolling anglers running downriggers, planer boards, Dipsy divers, and lead-core setups. All 12 models are casting (conventional-reel) configurations, consistent with the trolling application. Blanks use a 24-ton carbon and E-glass composite construction. UXR (Ultimate X Reinforced multi-directional fiber) reinforcement adds resistance to torsion, and UFR (Ultimate Flex Reinforcement) technology is applied at the tip section for durability.
Handle material is rubber shrink tube with a triangular foregrip cross-section to prevent reel rotation during trolling. Double-locking screw-down reel seats use aluminum locking nuts. Guides are stainless framed and braid-ready. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty. Model codes reveal technique-specific sub-groups: CWC-DR models are dedicated downrigger rods (7'–8'6" in ML, M, and MH); CWC-C models are general-purpose conventional trolling rods (9' in M and MH); CWC-CL-862M appears to be a lead-core or light-line variant (8'6" M MF action); CWC-DD-1002MH (10' MH) is a Dipsy diver rod; and CWC-WL models (8'6" and 10' MH) are designated wire-line or weighted-line.

Shortest downrigger model at 7'. Compact option for smaller boats or multi-rod spread in tight gunwale configurations. M/M provides the flex needed to detect subtle downrigger clip releases.
ML-power downrigger model on lighter 8-17lb line, suited to lighter trolling lures for kokanee, smaller trout, or walleye applications where a softer blank reads strikes more clearly.
Weighted-line (wire-line) model at 8'6". Heavier 15-30lb line spec reflects the abrasion and weight demands of wire-line trolling rigs for deep-water salmon on the Great Lakes.
The only MF-action model in the series. CL designation and moderate-fast action suggest lead-core or light trolling applications where a faster tip helps manage longer lead-core segments at speed.
Longest wire-line model at 10'. Greater rod length increases the angle of presentation and helps keep wire off the gunwale in multi-rod spread configurations. MH/M mirrors the 8'6" WL spec.
Dedicated Dipsy diver rod at 10'. Extended length helps manage the arc of a Dipsy diver on a long lead; MH power handles the consistent load without tip fatigue over multi-hour trolling runs.
