The Okuma Cortez A Series is a two-rod sabiki rod lineup designed for bait fishing in saltwater. The series fits anglers who use sabiki rigs to catch live or cut bait, a technique common on party boats, piers, and private boats in coastal fisheries. The sabiki rig presents a string of small fly-tied hooks to schools of baitfish (sardines, mackerel, smelt), and the rod must thread and retract the multi-hook rig cleanly without tangling. Both models feature Okuma's interline (inner-line) blank design, the entire sabiki rig routes through the inside of the hollow blank and exits at the tip, eliminating external guides entirely.

A Unidirectional Fiber Reinforced rod tip increases lifting power for managing the weight of a loaded sabiki rig. Blanks are 24-ton carbon, lightweight and responsive. The design avoids the common problem of guide-wrapped hook tangles when retracting the rig. An opening above the handle threads the line from the reel to the blank interior. The two models are functionally identical in length (7'3"), power (M), and action (M/Moderate), differing only in rod type: CZ-C-732SBK is a conventional/casting model and CZ-S-732SBK is a spinning model.

Both are rated 15–30lb line. The paired offering allows anglers to use their preferred reel style for bait gathering. Pricing is entry-to-mid tier. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty.
