Dead Eye Custom Series Rods 1

The Dead Eye Custom is Okuma's dedicated walleye spinning series, developed with input from Midwestern tournament anglers. All six models are extra-fast action spinning rods built specifically for live-bait vertical jigging, harness rigs, and snap-jigging over structure. Target species is walleye, with occasional application for sauger and smallmouth. The extra-fast taper and short handle are calibrated for boat fishing where stroke length and feedback matter more than casting distance.

Blanks use Okuma's SCT (Spiral Carbon Technology) construction, a dual-helix carbon wrap over a 30/40-ton graphite blank that stiffens the tube against torque while keeping weight down. Sea Guide XO-316 stainless guide frames use an angled design to reduce line twist on long, rotating presentations. The ALPS RPD reel seat with aluminum thread nut holds the reel firmly under the constant load-and-release cycle of walleye jigging. Cork/EVA split grips reduce dead weight at the butt.

Six models, all spinning, distributed across three lengths: 6'0", 6'8", and 7'4". Each length appears in two powers, ML (light lures, 3/16–3/8 oz) and either M or MH (heavier jigs to 1 oz). The ML models are suited for light-water presentations; M and MH handle deeper current or heavier bottom contact. No casting models; this is an all-spinning lineup.
