The DTR Custom Inshore series is a technique-specific inshore saltwater line designed explicitly for the harsh, demanding conditions of Venice, Louisiana and Gulf Coast fishing. Each model is named for a specific presentation, Popping Cork, Carolina Rig, Top Water, Spoon/Spinner/Bladed Jig, Jig/Jerk Bait, covering the core techniques for redfish, speckled trout, snook, and cobia. Anglers here are experienced inshore guides and serious recreational saltwater anglers who prefer single-purpose tools.

Blanks are 24/30-ton low-resin carbon with Okuma's UFRII (Ultimate Flex Reinforced) rod tip technology, which adds reinforcement at the tip section to resist breakage when fighting bull reds or bouncing lures along the bottom. Guides are SeaGuide XO and XQ series, angled 316 stainless steel frames with Zirconium inserts, compatible with both braid and mono. The reel seat is a customized Fuji skeleton with woven carbon insert. Handle configurations vary by technique: cork full or split grip depending on the model.

All are single-piece, weighing 3.4–3.8 oz. The 11-model lineup covers 7 spinning and (per input batch) at least 4 casting versions across two lengths, 7'0" and 7'2". Power runs ML to MH. The SSB (Spoon/Spinner/Bladed Jig) and TW (Top Water) spinning and casting pairs share the same blank length and power but differ in action taper. The JJ (Jig/Jerk Bait) models appear in both lengths and in ML and M power, allowing anglers to fine-tune to their preferred jig size.

A closer look at notable models.

DTR-C-701M-TW Casting · 7'0" · M · M action

Top Water casting model. Moderate action is the functional key here, slower tip recovery keeps treble-hook topwaters pinned better during the strike and walk-the-dog phase, preventing fish from leveraging slack line to throw the hooks.

DTR-C-701MH-CR Casting · 7'0" · MH · F action

Carolina Rig casting version. MH power and fast action suits the long leader presentation, providing enough backbone to drive the hook on a Carolina setup. Widest line range in the casting segment at 8–20 lb accommodates heavier fluorocarbon leaders in murky water.

DTR-S-701M-PC Spinning · 7'0" · M · F action

Popping Cork spinning model. Fast action and lighter lure range (1/8–3/8 oz) allow the angler to work the cork with sharp wrist pops while maintaining sensitivity to detect strikes on the drop. Extended foregrip noted at 3/4" with longer rear grip for controlled handle work.

DTR-S-721ML-JJ Spinning · 7'2" · ML · M action

Lighter jig/jerkbait spinning option. ML power with moderate action produces a softer tip that loads more slowly, better suited to live-bait style jig presentations or soft plastics where the fish need a moment before the hookset. Contrasts with the M/F JJ model above it.
