Guides Select B Swimbait Rods

The Guide Select 'B' Swimbait is Okuma's dedicated big-bait casting rod series for trophy largemouth bass, made for anglers throwing glide baits, paddle-tail swimbaits, and large soft body lures. The 'B' designation differentiates this from the standard Guide Select series; 'B' stands for big bait. Target angler is experienced swimbait specialists who understand lure selection and presentation mechanics, these rods do not serve general bass fishing well due to their weight and power ratings. Blanks are 30/40-ton carbon composites with Okuma's Ultimate Flex Reinforced tip, a proprietary tip insert that improves tip durability under the repeated loading of heavy lures.

Fuji K-concept guide frames with Alconite inserts reduce line weight and friction for improved casting distance with bulky lures. Fuji ECS reel seat and aluminum locknut secure the reel under constant pressure. Full or split EVA foam grips depending on model. The series also exists in a travel (two-piece) version designated by model number suffix. Six models, all casting, all 7'9"–7'11" in length. Three are designated 7111 (one-piece) and two are 7114 (the travel two-piece versions of the H and XH), plus the 791 MH model at 7'9".

Power spans MH to XXH: MH (1–3 oz) handles mid-size swimbaits; H (1–6 oz) covers large single-hook glides; XH (2–10 oz) handles big paddle-tails and larger glides; XXH (5–14 oz) is for maximum-weight wooden or resin glide baits. Actions are MF or F, keeping hook penetration adequate on wide-gap single hooks.
