Pch Custom Inshore Rods

The Okuma PCH Custom Inshore series was designed with SoCal calico bass (kelp bass) in mind and extends naturally to general West Coast and Gulf Coast inshore species: redfish, snook, speckled trout, and similar. It sits in the mid-to-upper consumer tier, combining Okuma's UFR-II (Ultimate Flex Reinforcement) technology with Fuji K-guides and Fuji reel seats. UFR-II applies unidirectional fiber over 24-ton carbon in the extended tip section, reportedly increasing lifting strength by up to 400% without sacrificing tip sensitivity.

This is an important engineering choice for inshore fishing where anglers frequently need to horse fish away from structure at the rod tip. All models are casting rods except one spinning variant. The -SG model designation in the lineup indicates a Seaguide-guided variant with modified action, suggesting targeted spec differences for specific techniques or markets within the same series family. Fuji K-guides with Alconite inserts are standard on M, MH, and H models; lighter models may vary.

Premium Fuji reel seats are consistent throughout. Seven models: six casting and one spinning, spanning 7'6" to 8'0" in M, MH, H, and XH power. Fast action dominates; two -SG models carry MF action. The 7'6" length covers closer inshore work; the 8'0" models extend reach for jetty, surf, or open-water boat fishing. The XH model (PCHi-C-801XH-SG) at 20–40lb/1.5–4.5oz is the heaviest offering, handling large plugs, live bait, or heavy bottom rigs.
